Julian Gopffarth

Conference Co-Chair

Julian is a PhD candidate at the LSEs European Institute working on contemporary forms of German and French nationalism, its ideological underpinnings and transnational characteristics. Focusing on the networks of the French and German New Right, he looks at their shared origins, exchange of ideas and the way they attempt to reconstruct nationalist narratives and myths in the context of the 21st century. Prior to his PhD, he worked for the European Parliamentary Research Service as well as a member of the European Parliament. He holds a master degree in European Affairs from Sciences Po Paris and the LSE.
