Taylor McConnell is a doctoral researcher in Sociology at the School of Social and Political Sciences, University of Edinburgh. His dissertation project seeks to examine the role of the Croatian state, through its influence in the education and socialization of young Croats, in continuing to divide mnemonic communities in the regions once heavily populated by ethnic Serbs prior to 1995s Operation Storm. His research interests include memory politics, Yugoslavia past and present, identity construction, violence and transitional justice.
