When you join ASEN you provide us with certain bits of information about you, including your name, contact details, addresses and some educational information.
Purpose and legal basis
ASEN keeps records of this data so that we can fulfil the membership agreement with you. This includes sending you journals and communicating activities and events in the field of nationalism.
ASEN keeps this data in a password protected and encrypted database. Your name and email are also kept on MailChimp for sending out our newsletter. ASEN has a data processing agreement with MailChimp to ensure your data is safe. ASEN does not share your data with any third-parties.
ASEN keeps your data as long as you are a member and for six years if your membership lapses.
You can withdraw consent for the newsletter at anytime by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ button on any newsletter you have received or by emailing the ASEN Coordinator – email@example.com.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have a number of rights with regard to your personal data.
- You have the right to request from us access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data
- You have the right to restrict processing, object to processing as well as in certain circumstances the right to data portability.
- If you have provided consent for the processing of your data you have the right (in certain circumstances) to withdraw that consent at any time which will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before your consent was withdrawn.
- You have the right to lodge a complaint to the Information Commissioners’ Office if you believe that we have not complied with the requirements of the GDPR with regard to your personal data.
