Please note that in order to allow participants to choose accommodation that suits their budgets, the fee for the summer school does not include accommodation.
Accommodation
There are a few hotels in Zadar, but we suggest looking for AirBnBs or similar for your accommodation. Once you have been accepted for the summer school, we will put you in touch with other participants if you want to look at sharing an AirBnB.
There is a good bus network in Zadar. Routes 2 and 4 go through the old city, and routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 stop nearby.
With the exception of the excursion, all the summer school events take place in the old city, with the academic events taking place at the Department of Sociology.
By air
Zadar Airport is approximately 10km from the city centre. There are direct flights from many European destinations, including the hub airports of Frankfurt, Amsterdam-Schiphol, London-Gatwick, and Madrid, as well as Zagreb. Regular taxis are relatively expensive, so we suggest downloading the Bolt app (similar to Uber). Alternatively, there is a bus to the city centre for approximately €3.5.
By rail
There are rail connections to Zagreb and Split. RailEurope is useful for planning rail trips.
By road
We do not recommend travelling to Zadar by car as parking in the city is limited. Intercity and international buses are available.
